Technical Product Designer

Technical Product Designer is one of the nationally recognized occupations requiring formal training according to the Federal German Vocational Training Act (BBiG). The overall duration of the traineeship is 3.5 years.

Occupational profile:
Technical Product Designers create and edit 3D data records and the technical documentation of components and assemblies based on design and engineering specifications. In doing so, they take account of manufacturing methods and material properties, they plan and coordinate workflows and design processes, and they verify and evaluate work results.

What trainees can expect at Gala:
At Gala, we put the focus on hands-on training. Since both designing and most of the manufacturing are in-house activities controlled by Gala, our trainees get to know our products right from the start. During their 3.5 year traineeship, our trainees have an opportunity to be actively involved in a number of specialist departments. This way, they not only acquire the skills required for the occupational profile but also become familiar with the philosophy behind the Gala products

CAD training is provided with 2D (ME10) and 3D (SolidWorks) software. In addition, various steps in the workflow are performed with the generally known Microsoft Office applications.

Each trainee is allocated an "own workplace" within the design department.

Management Assistant in Wholesale and Foreign Trade

Management Assistant (m/f) in Wholesale and Foreign Trade is one of the nationally recognized occupations requiring formal training according to the Federal German Vocational Training Act (BBiG). The three-year training is subject to federal regulations and is offered by industrial and commercial businesses with specialization in foreign trade or wholesale trade.

Occupational profile:
Management Assistants in Wholesale and Foreign Trade work in the offices of wholesale companies, in the field service or in warehouses and sales rooms. Their activities include the purchasing and selling of goods for industrial enterprises, intermediaries and retailers. Management Assistants in Wholesale and Foreign Trade see to it that the goods are delivered to the customer on schedule. They provide comprehensive advice to the customer on the properties of the goods and have a general knowledge of the manufacturers and the market. In addition, they offer consulting on financing, services and marketing. In Germany, they specialize in foreign trade or in wholesale trade already during their training, depending on the number of domestic or foreign contacts.

What trainees can expect at Gala:
Trainees pass through all commercial departments relevant for this recognized occupation, such as sales, purchasing, dispatch, warehouse and financial accounting.

We also consider it important that our trainees gain insight into the engineering departments of service and assembly and attend customer trials in our own technical centre so as to allow an integral understanding of Gala and of the products we sell. Training with Gala is very practice-oriented and – due to the high share of our export business – has a clear international focus.

Mechatronics Technician

Mechatronics Technician (or Mechatronics Fitter) is one of the nationally recognized occupations requiring formal training according to the Federal German Vocational Training Act (BBiG).

The overall duration of the traineeship is 3.5 years.

Occupational profile:
The name of the occupation is derived from the interdisciplinary field of mechatronics, which comprises a combination of mechanics and electrical engineering / electronics plus control and information technology. Mechatronics Technicians build mechanical, electrical and electronic components, assemble them to form complex systems, install the controlling software and maintain these systems.

What trainees can expect at Gala:
The occupational profile of a Mechatronics Technician has many facets. The mechanics side comprises metal processing and machining, assembling, welding, repairing and the like, while the electronics side deals with power and control wiring, trouble shooting and rectification of defects at electronic systems.

These and other activities are performed as part of the manufacturing of our machinery. In our technical centre, we operate and evaluate our own demonstration equipment and a steady flow of new developments at process conditions, which provides first-hand experience of how our equipment will work in the field.
